Southwest Health Alliance Identifies New Healthplan Solution!
On December 5, 2001, SouthWest Health Alliance (SWHA), Arizona's employer healthcare coalition, announced its sponsorship and exclusive distribution of a new healthcare plan design in Arizona called HealthEOS. SWHA is sponsoring this product opportunity to employers in Arizona because our members and prospects have told us they want help finding alternatives to the current limited market in health plan purchasing in Arizona. We have chosen HealthEOS because HealthEOS has the tools and services in-place - right now - to move our healthcare delivery system beyond the current HMO model and its associated spiraling double-digit rate increases and declining healthcare quality.
To explain the advances of this new plan design in healthcare management to employer members and prospects, SouthWest Health Alliance is conducting a free seminar to its members and prospects. It is titled "Alternatives to the Current Cost and Quality Crisis in Health Plan Purchasing".
The seminar will feature presentations and discussion regarding:
- Current state of healthcare under the HMO "Managed Care" Model,
- Description of the new model, a HealthEOS, sponsored by the Alliance; its design features and functions,
- Risk Management Techniques for Employer Plan Sponsors,
- Integrated Claims Administration Component.
We encourage any employer/purchaser with concerns about the current cost escalation and diminishing quality of care and customer concern in the market to attend this important event. Research projects nationally that have recently been completed on several discreet populations on the magnitude of 50,000 life groups each and the already 2 million plus lives using the core features of this new plan design will be presented. We will follow shortly with additional information about this upcoming presentation.
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS SO THAT YOU DO NOT MISS THIS CRITICAL OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Seminar Description
In keeping with its mission to provide employers in the Southwest opportunities to examine ways to improve the value of employer-paid health benefits, the SouthWest Health Alliance (SWHA) invites you to attend a free lunch seminar addressing Emerging Strategies In Health Plan Management.
Recent significant healthcare coverage cost inflation has many employers looking for alternatives to Managed Care and its inability to control cost to business and employees and assure high quality healthcare for all. This presentation will focus on emerging strategies in health plan management involving disease management within an aging workforce, health care outcomes data management and analysis, and employee productivity.
We will examine how one local employer and their health plan administrator have implemented changes in their approach to health plan management using disease management, outcomes analysis, and cost data. The case study will present strategies for implementing effective plan interventions to produce significant improvements in cost and quality of health plan services.
